A DStv Premiership club could add another player currently being assessed to their roster long after the transfer deadline given his free agent status.
Siyabonga Khumalo, 22, has surfaced at Golden Arrows in his efforts to try land himself a new contract having left the University of Pretoria in the GladAfrica Championship – a club he had initially joined from TS Galaxy.
The young midfielder is thought to have impressed Arrows coach Lehlohonolo Seema and may have very well earned himself a long-term stay at the KwaZulu-Natal outfit.
Khumalo was pictured recently during the FIFA international break kitted in Arrows colours during a friendly game.
His clearance from Tuks is believed to be in the works, and should that be finalised then the player will be in a position to sign for a club of his choice.
Arrows have brought in at least 11 new players to reinforce Seema’s team as they target to replicate the form that led them to a fourth place finish under then coach Mandla Ncikazi, who has since moved to Orlando Pirates.
One of the key departures at the club was influential midfielder Ntsako Makhubela, and Khumalo could be an ideal replacement to fill the gap if talk in the football fraternity about his ability is anything to go by.
