From Toddlers through to Preschool, Nurture and Nature Montessori provides curricula and classrooms that balance both academic and social development.
Progress through the curriculum is managed through an online application called Montessori Compass which provides complete transparency for our parents into the daily activities and development of the child. This includes weekly updates record keeping of your child’s progress.
Classrooms are specifically prepared environments that promote children’s independence and individuality and foster their natural love of learning. When it comes to a child’s growth at Nurture and Nature, the educational process is as critical as the educational content.
The Toddler program, for children 18 months to 3, takes advantage of the toddler’s natural drive to act independently. Nurture and Nature Montessori advances each child’s growth and development through a rich and well-prepared environment designed specifically for toddlers. The classrooms are a special place for the young child to begin his/her steps towards independence and self-reliance.

Dedicated, nurturing and trained teachers implement a toddler designed curriculum to foster cognitive development, speech and language development, strengthen fine motor and gross motor skills, introduce grace and courtesy lessons, and promote independence.
An important part of a toddler’s developing independence is learning to care for him/herself by washing hands and putting on shoes and jackets. Toddler exercises and activities recognize that children learn by doing. Classroom materials are always accessible, attractive, safe, and geared for a child’s success. Activities are changed regularly in response to children’s need for variety and challenge as they grow and learn.
The safe, loving, gentle atmosphere puts children and parents at ease and makes for a trusting, spontaneous transition to school. Toddlers come to school five days a week, and may choose to stay for mornings-only or a full day. Upon completion of the Toddler program, children join our Preschool program.
Preschool children learn by doing. The concrete materials in the classroom allow the children explore the world through their senses, through touch and motion, and by observing and engaging with others. One main feature of Montessori education is its hands-on approach to learning. Students work with specially designed materials, manipulating and investigating until they master the lesson inside. Teachers guide students through the curriculum as children are ready for each new challenge, introducing lessons and then letting children practice what they have learned. As children grow, the classroom materials grow with them in the sense that older children use the materials to explore curriculum in new and deeper ways.

Preschool children experience an intense period of change, including the transition to cooperative play and more complex social interactions, a language explosion leading to beginning skills in writing and reading, the emergence of number sense and the foundations of math, and great changes in physical development. The Montessori teacher responds to these with appropriate one-on-one lessons to support each child’s unique growth and emerging capabilities.

Nurture and Nature Montessori has partnered with Slipstream Swimming school in an effort to bring convenience and access to a necessary swimming lessons to our parents. We offer weekly, on-site swimming lessons. Slipstream Swim School has been operating for 20 years. The swimming pool is heated.
The real goal of Little Kickers, is to use football as a fun forum to instil our growing squad with a little extra confidence, co-ordination, control and sense of camaraderie; which we feel will stand them in very good stead for the future.
Ballet lessons have three major cognitive benefits. First of all, they expand vocabulary through learning the French names of the steps and hearing the musical terms. Secondly, they develop their musicality and rhythm through coordinating their bodies to the music. A third cognitive benefit, noted by MV Dance and Performing Arts, is that memorizing new steps and dances improves memory in young ballet students.
Kindermusik is a gently structured, flexible curriculum that allows children from birth to 7 years to learn and develop at their own pace. Research shows music nurtures a child’s cognitive, emotional, social, lingual and physical development. Leading professionals and specialists from various related disciplines have helped produce this remarkable international program.

The Dance Mouse syllabus is to encourage children to enjoy dance expression and to increase their passion and love of dance. It provides the child with the technical training, as well as fun, rhythm and exercise.
Afternoon enrichment is offered at Nurture and Nature Montessori from 13:30 until 17:30 from Monday to Friday.
The Nurture and Nature Montessori afternoon enrichment program has been set to ensure that the children receive proper stimulation during the afternoon which is focused on a combination of fine and gross motor development activities.
Younger kids will be able to sleep after lunch while the older kids partake in activities with the teacher.

The children eat a healthy snack provided for by Nurture and Nature Montessori at 15:00.
The afternoon enrichment program is only available to children enrolled at Nurture and Nature Montessori school.
Nurture and Nature Montessori operate on the ISASA 3 term calendar. Our school generally closes for school holidays for in April, August and December. We offer a comprehensive holiday program for the school holidays in April and August and the first week of holidays in December as well the as the mid-term break in July.
During the school holiday program we offer a play based curriculum which operates around a general theme of the day. Art, baking and visitors from outside the school are involved in our holiday program. Some examples of the fun we have include Animal shows, Water day, Puppet shows and many more!
Holiday Program is available to all Nurture and Nature Montessori students.
